Howdy,
I'm looking for recommendations for a good tranny shop in the San Diego area (will drive for a good shop tho). I don't need anything fancy, just a new T4 for an '86 F150. Thanks!

- Also just checking into the SoCal chapter, I live up in Mission Valley, right by Qualcom.
I am looking too, I have a C-6 that needs some love and probably a new torque converter too. If I find a decent shop I will post it. I do know a good body shop in San Diego though.

I did try out Miramar Transmission (6594 Miramar Road, bldg B, 92121). They do a free testing and evaluation of the tranny- and in my case couldn't find the problem. Instead of recommending some expensive tranny service, he just told me that if the problem ever comes back, that I should just give him a call and he would be glad to look into it. He said that he didn't want me to spend money on something unnecessarily. I was pretty happy with that, you may want to check them out.
