Temp Sensor

Hi. Been having an issue with the temp gauge on my '92 F350, 351, 5 speed. The needle will not go past the first line after the C. I thought that the problem was a stuck thermostat, so I had it replaced. It didn't change a thing. Next I am going to replace the temperature sensor, which brings me to this thread. I went to Advanceautoparts.com, but they show a few different styles there. I don't know exactly where the sensor is located, so I need someone to point me in the right direction. A picture would be nice, if possible. I seem to remember something about there being more than one--one for the gauge and one for the computer, but I could be getting confused with another vehicle or something. Anyway, any tips you could give would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hmm, looking at the vehicle repair guide on autozones website the temp sensor looks like it is just below the distributor.

The one for the gauge has ONLY one wire, the temp sensor with two wires is the one for the computer..

The single wire dash gauge sensor is right in front of #5 injector(drivers side front) in the lower intake, the 2 wire computer temp sensor is just above the thermostat housing in the metal plumbing that feeds the heater core and water pump.

Thanks everyone. I will take a look at where you are talking about tomorrow. I hope this thing isn't a PIA to get to. Since it turns out that there are two of them, I think I will replace them both.

No need to replace them both if it's just the gauge that's having issues. The one for the gauge is cheap. IIRC, the 2 wire one for the computer is rather expensive.

The single wire one for the gauge looks like this:
