What's up with their high shipping rates? I'm looking at purchasing the complete body mounting kit. MSRP for the kit is $199.99. When I went to the check out it was damn near $230 so it took me by surprise. The shipping cost is actually $27.75. I'm fairly certain that bolts, washers, and bushings wouldn't weigh that much to justify such a price. The size also should be anything large. So what gives? Do they base their shipping rates on the price of the item?

 

LMC ain't Amazon and it's the sign of the times. Heck, even the airlines charge for baggage. Same difference, yah?

Yes, LMC bases its "delivery and handling" costs on the purchase amount. Not til you spend more than $1,000 is shipping free... even then, oversized stuff is dinged another $20 on top of the purchase price.

NPD ships out of NC if I recall correctly. LMC is out of Kansas. Ya might wanna factor that into your cost cuz sometimes it's less to order from further away.

 

That's correct, their shipping rates are calculated based on the parts order total, one would think it would be based on size/weight of the order, but that's not the case, at least with LMC.
