look what i brought home this time - plow,trailer & grinder coated w/ por-15

finally got myself a stump grinder.another tool i wont have to rent anymore.
fully working.she just needs a fresh coat of paint and fluids changed,a few odds and ends but she burns no oil and grinds great.
got her from a local guy who is getting out of the tree service biz (well i say local loosely lol. here in Maine you need to travel for anything.about 50 miles away.so pretty local for rural Maine.)
25 hp gas kohler and upgraded green teeth.

she may not look like much now (like my rusty plow lol) but this and my plow will soon be getting the full POR-15 treatment topped off with their flexcoat yellow paint here in the next few days before the temps drop to low to spray.

the 'ol idi dually truck don't even know she's there hardly of course.she's lighter than the chipper.

Nice grinder!! As a fellow Mainer who cuts, splits, and stacks ten cord a year for heat and sugaring I can appreciate a good stump grinder. Yeah, lets see that baby in action!!

How much ya charge to come out to SE WI and grind our 8' diameter willow tree stump that'll be there when i cut the tree down?

I suspect I may be cheaper digging it out with my backhoe though...

POR-15 + yellow flexcoat.
ran out of yellow topcoat though, cus i only thought i had a plow to spray yellow when ordering paint last time.
so got another quart coming so i can get a couple more coats on there.
looking pretty smart already though.
prepped using their 4 step program (which is a time consumer lol) and then a real nice 3-4 nice coats of por-15 on everything, and then the yellow flexcost.
i was going to flexcoat black the por-15 black stuff you still see there, but i ran out of daylight.they make a primer now that goes on cured 15 so i can always do that latter.reading the directions though,UV just makes it fade to dull finish, but doesn't actually hurt anything.since its equipment,i probably wont bother then and leave it like i did under my truck.
this stuff doesn't have to stay shiny, just coated to protect and look presentable.besides always coated with dust from chips anyway lol.

pics of the rusty plow when i bought that:

yes its self propelled via one of the hydraulic levers.
1.side to side sweep of the grinding wheel.
2.up and down of the grinding wheel.
3.in and out of the front steering wheel bar (she really comes right out of there a ways too.stabilizes and helps pull itself on the trailer once you pin the front.) - i forgot about this actually when painting.i should have started her up and extended that out first.ah well.i'll just clean it up and shoot it with the flexcoat top coat yellow.
4.forward and reverse.
she also locks up both rear wheels for more traction.you reach inside the open side wheel and pull a lever.its setup this way so you can open up the rear so she turns tighter.

..........
next,it's off to tractor supply for hydraulic fluid to flush them both.not sure if i'll find my filter there, but napa will have it if they don't.
