Arrow I found a secret in my truck!

So I was doing some poking around, and I found this really neat feature. Its a diagnostic test mode, with lots of cool features!

To enter the test mode follow these instructions!

1) Insert key, do not turn.
2) Press and hold ODO Reset button
3) Turn key to "ON" but not start.
4) Keep holding the button until you see TEST

You may now start the truck and it will stay in the test mode. If you want to get out of the test mode hold the ODO button for about 10 seconds.

You are now in the test mode! Pressing the ODO button will cycle through the MANY MANY screens that your ODO will display. A few are a digital tach, digital speedometer, numeric fuel level indicator, transmission temperature, digital battery voltage gauge, stored DTC codes and more!

Sorry some of the pics are fuzzy. I had to set my phone/camera on the steering column so I could drive for some of the tests and it didnt want to focus close up.

Bulb Check:

Digital Speedometer:
There is also metric speed for you metric folk.

Digital Tachometer:

Engine Temperature (F):

Diagnostic Trouble Codes:

Door Ajar: (Would be represented by numbers)

Voltage Gauge:

Gauge Test (Full Sweep):

I also took a couple videos:

EDIT:This was later found, and I thought I'd post it here.

The DTC code function sounds infinitely handy if something tosses an SES light on the dash. I remember pulling DTCs from 80's/90's Chrysler products by doing the on/off/on/off cycle with the key then counting SES light flashes.

I looked up the two DTCs I got from the gauge cluster and they appear to be gauge cluster related only. I think it will only show the gauge trouble codes. It would be cool to read them all thought!

Don't mean to burst your bubble, but this was discovered quite a while ago. I guess it doesn't hurt to post it again though. I'm sure there are plenty of people that don't know about it. I didn't know about it until just the other day when it was brought up in another thread.

Pretty cool, I heard there was something similar on the 6.4's as well, but can't remember how to get there.

It is a neat feature. My 2004 Mustang has the same thing. It is very handy to check the operating system.

Yeah, they aren't real trouble codes. Bummer, too, I was all pumped until I figured that out, lol!

3 things I miss from my Ram: DTC's from the ODO, A-Pillar handle, and the double-storage middle seat.

Pretty much it tho!
