Bigger than stock tires in 15x7s? Pictures?
Hello all,
I am at the point where I need to start thinking about tires. I have alwyts gone with the standard P235/75R15 but was thinking that maybe I could go a little bigger? I have stock rims, 7 inch wide I presume, with dog dish hub caps.
Anyone have advice on this subject - I've read some past threads but would really like to see pictures of a 2WD w/stock rims and bigger/fatter tires.

Greetings.
Have you paged through this thread?: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/7...ents-here.html
Lotsa pics in there.
On a side note, FTE userID "williamwilliam" has a really nice bumpside (67-72) shortbed wearing 15x8 wheels. Due to the slightly narrower frame, his rig wears 215/70-15s in front and 275/60-15s in the back. His truck is lowered 3" in front and 5" in the back. His truck's stance is perfect in my opinion.

For many years I thought my '77 had 15X8 wagon wheels, I never bothered to meassure them. It had 31/10.50-15 Sidewinder Radials on it when I got it in 1986, I wore them out ...
... and put some Courser Radial LT tires in a odd ball 31/11.50-15 size for a few years ...
... then I put a set of Sears Treadloc RoadHandler LT tires on it in 31/10.50-15 size again ...
... they wore fast so I bought the next set also from Sears, but different model that superceeded them also in 31/10.50-15 size.
In 2004 I bought some new wheels for it and in swapping tires, for the first time, noticed the wagon wheels looked narrower. Measured them and they were in fact 15X7 wheels all those years.
Below are some of them.

They should be stamped on the rim near the valve stem hole methinks.

Is that a 2WD?if so, sorry - I thought it was a 4 wheel drive. Nothing against the stance or the tires - I'm running a 2wd regular cab short bed, I want tires a little more stock looking than that.
Besides, you have aftermarket rims, I would think they are wider than my stockers. If the stock wheels are less than 7 inches, I don't know if they would take a tire bigger than 235/75 R15s

It is 2wd - it's lifted 4" and has the same ride height as my '74 crew cab.
Personally slock type trucks are boring to me and I do a bunch to get my trucks away from looking stock. That is just me though and others (you it seems) prefer the stock type look. One way or the other isn't right or wrong - just different setups for different people.
My guess is your wheels are 15x6.5 and with that the 235/75r15's will be fine. They can take bigger too depending on what you want. A 31x10.5r15 should work well too.
