I guess that would account for the blue smoke. I agree with the overfill/CDR ideas. Once you get that squared away, check the GP readings again and if you have any abnormal readings, you might want to do an injection system overhaul on her. Do a compression check first before the injection overhaul.

ya you guys right, im gonna dump that oil and put some fresh in at the right level. and go from there. starts up so good even at 9 deg without being plugged in. ofcourse i switched it to all new GPs and put them on a manual switch tho.

started welding up a plow mount for it this weekend, gonna try to finish it up next weekend as it seems we got the snow and its sticking, and building up.

i wonder how much overfull you have to have it to suck the oil out to burn.

checked the oil today after running it a while again its on the R on the overfill..... i wonder if the lift pumps leaking into the crankcase... starts so easy after sitting long long time in very cold temps tho. so i dont see how it could be!

what you guys think. i cant see anyother way of gaining oil other then either i read it wrong the first time or its putting fuel into the crankcase tho. the oil doesnt seem to smell at all like diesel to me tho. maybe my nose is bad.

Did you check the antifreeze? Make sure it's not dropping, because there are ways it can get into the oil too.

If u changed the oil it should be 10qts with a new filter... Then see what yur level is... Diaphram could be ruptured in the lift pump or maybe the dip stick is an after market rather than OE

If it's raising the oil level you more than likely need a new left pump. Then change the oil again.

ya i think i will pick up a new lift pump as i hate to change the oil then ruin the new oil if the lift pump is bad. they cheap and fairly easy to change out.

ya i think its a pretty handsome truck, might just solid axle convert it for the heck of it too.

The oil level increasing is going to be one of two things. Fuel or water. To test for water, simply drain a little oil from the pan and check if you have any water or mixing going on. There can still be water in the pan without it being mixed/milky in the oil. If that's not the case, you are more than certainly looking at a new lift pump.

Yes, lift pump first. And they are cheap and easy.

Is something wrong with the axle on it? The split axle gives you a better ride than a solid.

well all new injectors (reman) and lines /caps last weekend and it still runs the same. got oil level correct, and its not increasing, so im guessing the lift pump is good,

what do you think the odds are of the injection pump being the problem?

would it leave a cloud of blue smoke when you floor it? or maybe i really have bad compression in couple cylinder, it dont smoke when it idles tho and starts up easily.

i also took off the cdr and checked it it operates freely.
