I have a 2002ish (not sure of the exact year)- 5.4 Lightning Engine and Trans that we are installing into a 1965 Ford F100 Shortbed Pickup-- All of the mod work is done and transmission is ready to bolt in -- One small problem is that the engine/trans came detached from each other and I don't have any idea what the correct bolts are -- Can anyone give me some direction please-- We are getting pretty close!
BTW-- The ford dealer said bolts are discontinued and could not tell me size or type -- Not sure where to go from here-

Try calling an auto wrecker and buy a set of bolts from them.

 

That sounds like the dealer's parts department was too lazy to make a small sale. I believe the bolts are all the same from the first 4.6 16 valve engine to todays production. Ford charges a bunch for their bolts so the salvage yard suggestion is your best bet.

 

We have a couple self serve auto wreckers here,that might give you an option if there is one in your area.
