66 axle problem

In reference to my axle problem,, I have had no answers from the group yet.....Can anyone give me the run down on this part # on the axle....C4TW 4235 A Its stamped into the lug bolt plate....
Maybe this will give me a broader search trying to find one...again the axle is about 30" long overall....Thanks Dan

This is not a part number, it's a casting number, cannot be cross referenced to a part number.

Which rear axle does your F100 have, Ford 9 inch, optional Dana 44, Dana 60.2 or Dana 60.3?

How many splines does the axle shaft have? Dana's have an inspection cover, the 9 does not.

AXLE code stamped on the 2nd line-far right of the Warranty Plate, located on the left door face below the latch.

I have a 9 inch with 28 splines. Unfortunately the truck does not have the tag on the door with the axle code. One of my biggest concerns is the brake offset. I measure closer to 2 inch then I do to 2 3/8" like most big bearings have. Kinda confuses me a little and have been searching this for about a week now. I am going to be doing a rear disc conversion and need axles to match my new CV IFS bolt pattern. So I am thinking i might just order axles with a 2 3/8" brake offset to fit a rear disc conversion kit. Not real sure if that will work or not. I have the front about 90% done and trying to get the rear figured out so the truck will be ready by spring. Any info is greatly appreciated.

Wouldn't it be a better option to have your current axles redrilled?

Another option is to get a Mustang disc rear end have spring perches and shock mounts welded on.

Is there a good place to have that done at a reasonable price? I went to a local fab guy who is an older gentleman with all the right tools and know how but it would have cost me around 700 dollars for both. He is not cheap. This is because the inner hub needed turned down and the hole in the axle face needed welded in to make the bolt pattern. I have a 8.8 out of a late 90's stand but just wanted to retain the 9 inch that came out. I though if I bought the axles with the 2.36 offset it would work. I might have to take a .36" off my length to make it fit the same as before and will make the axle face sit out just a little more but I'm not 100%..

Never saw your original post...

What disc conversion kit at you looking at? Price? Includes provisions for a parking brake?

Since you are already at 5X4.5 on the front with the Crown Vic, IMHO I'd hit the JY for a Explorer 8.8 rear. Factory discs, drum in hat parking brake, 5X4.5 pattern...blah blah blah

Unless you have a ton of $ tied up into the original axle ( gears, limited slip, etc...) sound like you'd be $ ahead to look into a axle swap.

I've used Moser in the past, fair pricing and excellent service.

Moser Engineering - Axles - Stock Application

Just my 2cents.

The explorer 8.8 sounds like a really good option I will look into it. I dont have any money in the 9 inch yet. The brake kit I was looking at was Right Stuff Part # ZDCDSM1. This one does not have the parking brake which isnt a huge concern but will hook one up if I end going the explorer 8.8. I will do some digging on the 8.8 swap and see what the go for around me at the JY. Thanks for all the responses.
