Lightbulb Custom made rear traction bars

Hey guys....I just made some rear traction bars this past week. With the help of my buddy from Tom's Machine Shop.
I wanted to do something alittle different.
The lower tube has a provision for an additional spike that I'm working on now. For the time being, I just installed a bolt.

Let me know what you think!

Love them....and your Ex very clean and detailed......One question as I would like to get some traction bars in the future. In the fifth photo it shows what looks like a shakle that the front of the traction bars are attached to. Wouldn't this allow the axle to move?? and defeat the purpose of these?? I am not sharp shooting just curious. Thanks

Typically the travel cycle of the Excursion rear axle is in an arch, rather than a linear motion found in most other trucks. This setup with the shackle system allows the bars to float with the arched travel of the rear axle. This provides a non-binding, smooth highway ride but still provides positive resistance to torque loads, reducing leaf spring wrap and increasing tire traction.

nice work....just curious about the spike your going to install on the front of the traction bars, what if you run someone over...they might get stabbed by your spike. just kidding, i saw and commented on the killer spikes you installed on your bumper. i love them, some others did'nt and the comments were too much. keep up the good work. thanks for posting pics.

Looks good, nice fab work. How are they working? Do you think they have taken any of the rear steer out of your rig?

To be honest if feels tighter. Not so sloppy in the rear end.
Before I installed these traction bars I was going to install a rear sway bar...but now I think I'm good to go.
