Chrome Plastic Clad Face - UGLY

I have a 2005 Expedition with Stock wheels. I used to live in northern Canada and had my tires switched out to studded snow tires.. When i got my truck back they had glued plastic covers over the outside of the wheels with a fake chrome finish.. (yeah thanks)

Now, 2 years later, i live in Colorado and the chrome is peeling off and its ugly as f%&K..

HOW do i get these covers off?? Any smart tips/tricks anyone??

Thanks!!

Use a heat gun to soften the glue and work the seams apart. If you're doing it outside, pick a warm day without wind and the process will go much faster.

Thanks

I dont get it, you took your truck to get snow tires on and the tire shop glued on wheel covers that you did not ask to have put on. I'd be pissed off and have them take the covers off or replace your wheels. Have you dealt with this shop before?

The time for that was maybe 2 years ago, and when he still lived near the shop.

"Asking why would they glue the covers on?" Is still a legitimate question.

Are you talking about the logo in the center cap? That is glued on from the factory if I'm not mistaken. Seems odd that a shop would just add new centers for you for no particular reason. Did you have to switch rims when you did the snow tire swap?

Don't mean to get elementary here but how can you tell they are glued? Did you just simply try to pry them off of the lugs first as they would normally come off or are you assuming that they were glued?
Have you ever popped these off before? Just asking???
