I'm running the Holley equivalent of the autolite 2100, the 7448 2brl...350 CFM...jetted for my altitude. I've run the autolite, too, and prefer this little Holley. I'm getting about 11-12 mpg from my 69 F250 in town and 13-14 on the road...simple daily driver. I've always wondered what one these old Fords would make with a fuel-injected mill, like a Dodge 318 or something similar. I had a 93 Dakota that would make 19-20 mpg in cruise mode, but it had an auto OD tranny, too.

yep i had the 88 f150 4x4 300 six 5 speed and it got 20mpg freeway
I would geuss around 15mpg, that link to the kit is pretty nice, the mustang ecu is really flexible with the a9l, i was surprised when i saw they were using that and just using a modified intake.I have feeling theres other intakes out there but that set up is pretty cool because it uses 8 injectors not some cfi puke toilet. theres also bolt on efi carb where everything is in the carb and it uses 4 cfi injectors for each barrel and its fully tune able as the other one isnt unless you chip the a9l and run software and burn chips or use quarterhourse for datastreaming. Ive gotten into tunning over the years and it alot more fun than most people think and fuel injection is alot more consistent and less finicky

I like injection and originally was going to go with injection on the 460 I am putting in my truck. I still may but I have seen so much lately concerning carbs that I may try my hand at some of the things I have read & heard on carbs. At least first before I swap over to injection.
I have never been a fan of TBI. It seemed to have many of the same issues I seen in carbed engines. With what I have learned lately concerning carbs though perhaps the TBI units aren't that bad.

Compared to fuel injection, carbs are like 50% as efficient with lots of moving parts exposed to the elements...big difference in maintenance. TBI was a band-aid until auto manufacturers could tool up for real fuel injection. They beat a traditional carb, but don't hold a candle to direct/ported injection. Carbs are fun to tune, but very frustrating when they don't cooperate...also getting hard to find a decent one at a decent price.

I am gonna look around. I would really like to find an intake like the top of Chevrolat engines. I have seen quite a few around here mainly in the '55-'57 Chevys and really am attached to that look for the top of an engine. The tubes coming in the sides of the rectangle with air intake straight out the front. Not sure what it is I like so much about it I just do. I also seen a 815 Ford Hemi built out of a 460 that I fell in love with!
