What Tires are You all using?

What brands and sizes are you all using besides the OEM tires?

Goodyear Duratrac 325/60R20.
Great for ICE and snow.
Good offroad.
Good on the hiway, not too noisy.

Pretty soft, not sure how long they will last.

Thanks

I have the 275/70R18 Continental ContiTrac TR that the truck came with.

They seem OK as long as one is not overly concerned with minor details like traction.

They also look like they are going to last a long time. I have 14K on them and they look the same as the day I got the truck. I think these are special edition never wear out tires that came only on the trucks with the special edition seats.

Anyway, they're staying put till they're done so we'll see how long that is some day.

I hope they do better than the ones that came on my '05. Same size as yours and they lasted less than 3 years. They had 30k on them when I had to replace them because of cracking / splitting around all four of them where the tread meets the sidewall. Those were the worst tires I've ever owned on any vehicle. I replaced them with Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armors and never had a complaint after that. The Goodyears were absolutely outstanding.

Yeah, I saw the pics you posted of your tire.

I thought that one big slit was from running something over but it just started to split apart you reckon?

Well, I don't really like these so hopefully they'll hurry up and self destruct but I am stubborn about using them up.

This is my 4th Superduty and well over 300,000 cumulative miles.
I average about 30,000 miles per set of tires. I've tried most of the major brands. Conti, Firestone, Goodyear, Michelin, Toyo. I get about the same mileage regardless of the brand. Its more a factor of what I tow and how I use the truck than what brand of tire I have installed.

The Goodyear Wrangles Silent Armor that I had my 2006 were a good tire, excellent winter tires. But they didn't hold up in the summer heat. I lost two tires during 100° temps in June and July while towing my goosenck trailer. If you tow or carry heavy loads in warmer climates, I wouldn't recommend them.

The Toyo AT's are a softer tread compound, they were always on the lower end of the tread wear. The Toyo Muds are noisy. Of coarse the Conti's are too much hiway tire and lack traction.

My OEM Michelins lasted 28,000 miles, Michelin stood behind them with their tread wear warranty and gave me 48% off new tires. They are one of the FEW tires with an "E" rating in a size that fits our trucks that has ANY KIND of a tread wear warranty. I guess if they will give me half off on new tires every year, I'll keep buying them. The Michelins handled well, were quiet, my only complaint is they throw a lot of stones. And I wish they had a plus size for the 20" rims, A 285/65R20 would suite me just fine.

My 2001 f250 7.3 came withe Firestone Steeltex 265/16 and they lasted 65,000 miles. The were so long wearing that I bought another set that also lasted 65,000. They quit making that tire so I put a set of 10 ply Nokiens that had great traction but lasted 30,000 miles. I have Contis on my 2011 with 18,000 miles and I am guessing they will last about 30,000 with the amount of tread left on them. I don,t know what tire to buy next for the longest wear. I pull a horse trailer on gravel roads in the mountains a lot and a 10,000 pound 5th wheel also. I would like to buy a tire that has good traction and lasts but that is probably not possible. The contis are no good in the snow at all.

Got the Michelins LTX M/S2' and are wearing good. Probably got 37 K or so now on them. The Michelin AT/2's wore terrible.

My Dually came with General's on it.. Only 2000 miles on the truck, they looks fine so far, will see how long they last.. I do mainly highway driving and tow a 5th wheeler, not sure what I'll get next but am thinking Michelin..

I have Duratrac 295/65R18 on my F150, just over 20k miles on them and they're holding up great, also stick to the road like glue even when it's wet. I'm definitely buying another set of these when it's time.
