HPOP Fittings

Hi - I have searched and could not find any info on changing the HPOP discharge hose fittings to brass. Anybody have any thoughts on this change? Thanks

Hi Pete! Thanks for Welcome.

These fittings are prone to leaking and I was thinking that brass and aluminum are closer to expanding at same rate than aluminum and steel and would keep a seal longer.

most brass is not rated for 3,000 psi. o rings are cheep and easy to change. I just changed the 2 on the outlet of the hpop this morning they have been there since 1997. lasted 1/4 million miles so i can't complain about that.

Anybody got an extra one of those Springs with a flat Seat that goes just inside the high pressure oil discharge fitting that is screwed into the HPOP?

Lost mine somehow.

Thanks.

Leave them out. Just be sure to leave both of them out. I pulled mine out and the truck idles a little smoother now.

Chris do you have any pics/links/threads to give me an idea about what springs you guys are talkinga bout? My trucks got that weird idle and some people talk about the varying pressure in the heads of the motor cause that, but IDK.
Not a big deal if ya dont.

They are the springs behind the fittings in the hpop for the hpop lines. I left mine out too.

Alex, they could be talking about you needing/trying a hpx (high pressure crossover) line. It installs between the heads and can even out the idle some as the pressure gets equalized to the heads better.

Page one, lower right. Great place for O-rings and service is outstanding.

You can take them out. I have left them out on every pump I pulled. they appear to reduce flow.

I may have some if you are dead set on putting them back in. They really serve no purpose.

I wouldn't even want to try to find mine, if I even have them anymore..
