changed out fuses and head light switch...
so I changed the headlight switch and fuses because the the switch was drawing current from my battery and killing it and the fuses were all rusted. After recharging the battery for a while I could not get the turn signal to turn on but the left turn signal would stay on (not blinking)when I had the signal **** in the neutral position. I didn't do anything to any of the wiring not sure what the deal is? thanks for reading.

Is the issue with the turn signal the only remaining issue? It showed up only after replacing the headlight switch and fuses?
When you say the left signal comes on with the switch centered, is it only the dash indicator that comes on, or do the front and rear turn signal lights come on as well? Does it happen with the headlights ON, OFF, or both? Do both front parking lights as well as both rear tail lights work otherwise?

road tested still the same. turn siganl is the only problem and yes they worked fine before the repair. only the dash indicator comes on not the actual signals. and it happens when they are on/off both and yes both front/rear tail lights work. thanks for the help guys. I thought I knew alot about electronics but I guess not cuz this makes no sense to me.

If the left turn signal indicator is coming on with the turn signal switch CENTERED, and the parking lights OFF, then there has to be a short in the turn signal switch, column, or dash somewhere.
The reason I asked if it happens with the parking lights ON, is because often times when one of the front turn signal sockets goes bad, turning on the parking lights can actually make the corresponding turn signal indicator on the dash come on. This is because the ground at the socket is lost, so the parking light filament in the offending bulb tries to find the next best ground, which is in the instrument panel through the neighboring turn signal filament and indicator bulb. Current through the indicator bulb filament makes it glow, making it look like the light is on.
However, you said this happens with the parking lights OFF, so there's no source of voltage for this to happen. So the indicator bulb has to be getting power from the switch, or a short. However, it's odd that the left front turn signal isn't stuck on as well. Maybe it is, but you just can't see it because the bulb is bad. This has to be some coincidental combination of bad sockets, a faulty turn signal switch, and/or a short somewhere. Most likely something got knocked loose when you did your other repairs.
