Did you mean to post this in another thread? If not, I'm not sure what you mean.

 

FTE has cost me about as much in mods as I've saved in repairs. Not sure what you're referring to though...

 

I think what he's talking about are the people that ask for help, but never report back on whether the help they get actually solved their problem.

 

Tha'ts kinda how the forum works, you join, ask for help, and spread what you've learned. I can tell you that from years of surfing the old turbo Dodge forums, The members here are much more helpful and courteous in my opinion.

This forum is much more helpful than any others I have belonged to. I've joined several other auto related forums for other vehicles I have had, and none have been near as helpful or had the wealth of knowledge this one has. When we bought my wife's Town & Country I went and joined that forum, talk about a waste of time! I also appreciate the fact that new members don't get a bunch of flack for not knowing anything like they do on some of computer support forums I've belonged to. It can be frustrating when a problem gets no response. I just figure that is because no one has a good answer.

 

Sometimes it is because a thread is kind of misplaced as well. Sometimes people post threads in the incorrect forum and some folks just move on to the next thread. For instance, a question about an Aerostar van posted in the Super Duty forum likely won't get any response. This is a pretty big site and it takes some getting used to in order to find the appropriate forums in which to ask questions. This can be tough for a new user that doesn't know their way around.

I try to catch misplaced threads and move them to the appropriate forum in order to get help to those that need it.

I also agree with the opinion of other forums. My wife has a Yukon Denali and when she got it, I joined a Tahoe / Yukon forum. Strange is about the only real description I can come up with for it.

I should have been more precise, but yes this what I'm talking about. It seems there are a lot of threads where the original poster never responds back to the advice and to let us know if the problem was fixed. This forum is great and has helped me tremendously.

 

Sometimes it's drives me crazy to see some of these people ask for help and get a dozen responses then never say another word if it helped or not. I suppose it's the nature of the internet being faceless.

 

Hats off to the moderators, you guys do a great job, I don't know how you keep track of it all. And I totally agree about the chevy forum, strange is the right description, I have better luck with google regarding my wife's Trailblazer.

That's what I mean, it would be helpful for the next guy to know what worked especially if there are a dozen different reasons that may have caused the problem.

 

The forums have helped me tremendously. Great people, and usually simple solutions to problems that , at first, seem beyond me. Especially with the '99 F350 SD.

I'm comfortable with the '49 F2's technology, but totally in the dark about the '99's.

The only difficulty I see with the forum is that I keep finding more things to fix...

I know I've said it before, but Thanks for all the help.

I find that as my questions get answered I will post back and not see any more comments, however, it seems that the # of people viewed goes up and up. I would guess that this means that people are interested and keep checking back or are referencing the post for there own problems. At least that's my guess.
This will remind me though to be diligent with posting updates.

I've really appreciated all the help that I have got while I've been here not to mention the words of encouragement.
