The F150 went into production in 1975.

Ok but they still didn't have a 460 from the factory

From the 1974 Ford truck sales brochure:

"High-performance 460 V-8 is optional in ALL 4x2's."

Many of the 460s put into early F100s/F150s came from cars. My 460 came from a '76 Lincoln. With minor modifications the car 460 goes right in
You are incorrect. My brother has a 79 F150 Super Cab with factory 460. I have known others, one friend who had a 77, I believe, that he bought new with a 460.

I used to think the same thing Elge. But my Ford micro fische also proves us wrong. Taking the frame motor mount brackets as an example Ford lists:
73/79 F100/350.... D3TZ6028A r/s and D3TZ6029A l/s. I started my career of a Ford Dealership Parts man in 1977. Through to now. And I have never once sold a part to what was told to me as a 1/2 ton pickup with a factory 460. Regular production F250/350 460 specific but enough people "special ordered" F100/150 with them so Ford represented them in the Parts Books maybe I dunno. Back in those days the Order Sheet for a sold car/truck could net some interesting builds.

The parts truck I bought a few years ago sacrificed its parts fro my Merc. It was a 1979 F150 Camper Special 4x2, regular cab, long bed. 460/ C6 w/ 3.50:1 Trac-Loc rear end.

My donor truck was a 75 F150 which had a 460 from the factory in it.

The 460 became available in the 1974 F100 two wheel drive. I know this for a fact as my father-in-law has the one he ordered new.
