Not too bad for never having to worry about it again!
I hate to be a stickler, but it's the economics training in me. That isn't a total bill. You need to factor in the time that you put into it and the value of that time. Not doing something else, be it with your family or doing other work etc.

I see a lot of this do it yourself mentality to save money. That isn't always the case. I'm not saying that it is the case here, but it's something that needs to be looked at on an individual basis before one can say that you will (or even qualifiers like "should") save a ton of money.

Just something that I don't think everyone thinks about. Certainly not based on how the posts are worded.

Caveat: 2006powerstroke90 I was just using your above quote as a launching pad for my post. The main thrust of it was to be generally applied to what I have seen on various posts here, not on that particular one specifically.

Another good example of why digital gauges are a good idea. Amarillo would know his icp/IPR and FICM volts without raising the hood.

On my DashDAQ I have it set up to where I don't have to have the gauges on the screen, but it has warning levels and when those levels are reached it lets me know and it starts to datalog other parameters that I have setup up to see if there is an issue.

Agree 110%

I seen gauges save $1000.00s on 1 fix

I know its hard for some people to justify when the truck is broke and the gauges isnt the part they need to get it to run

used to be people were getting 58 volt upgrades

I was too scared our injectors were designed for 48 volts but 52 volts is just a touch more I think thats Alot Better/Safer

Do they even do a 58volt mod anymore??

If it IS the STC fitting that is actually causing your issue. BTW, if you haven't figured out already, I'm located in Brampton, but work in Toronto. Are you the original owner of the truck? Have you had your head studs installed yet?

The one thing that worries me since I have a few custom computer builds under my belt now is that the quality of parts that they are using when they do their upgrades. Are they commercial grade or are they consumer grade? Companies like Swamps I think would be hard pressed to have the order capacity to order the commercial grade in quantities that they could stay competitive with other a/m companies.

I would be concerned about that and I would seek a 3rd party's opinion on the matter and not someone from the company that might be just pulling the company line.

Back to the topic at hand. Without datalogging it, when it fails to start, all of the above are simply guesses. If it IS in fact a high pressure oil system leak, isolating it would require air testing it, to pinpoint the source. The reason I asked if the OP was the original owner, is because I had wondered if these updates hadn't already been done while it was under warranty (assuming it has expired).

Amarillo 6.0L -

If your programmed FICM doesn't resolve your issue, then you might want to take Mike up on his offer .............. I don't think you would regret it!
