Wheel problem

After a long time down, I've finally gotten my '89 F-250 back on the road by replacing the flexplate. A problem that I've had for sometime now is the passenger side sagging in the front. My truck is 4 wheel drive with leaf springs all the way around. I'm guessing the leaf spring is just weak but I can't tell by just looking at it. It doesn't sag all the time, either. While investigating this issue, I noticed that my wheels bow out at the bottom real bad. It does it only when I back up. I will take some pics to show you the difference when it's bowing out later. Do I have king pins or ball joints and does a kingpin go all the way through the top to the bottom? If it does, then I must have ball joints because I have and upper and lower connection to the hub. Either way, I'm guessing it's one of these problems and I'm hoping someone here will be able to tell me the difference and if that should be the problem. Thanks for your help. =)

If everything is original to the truck you have ball joints. I would be looking at wheel bearings or ball joints. Jack up one side of the truck, grab the top and bottom of the wheel and try to move it in and out (top out while bottom in and visa versa). If it moves it is one of the two. If you can get someone to do the tire while you watch you will be able to tell which it is or both. Now do the other side. Being 20+ years old I would guess ball joints.

I did as you said, elgemcdlf and there is a little bit of play on both wheels. I am in the process of getting the hubs with rotors off right now. I will do a test when done and let you know how things go. I will check the bearings when I get to that part as well. Thanks for the help and information!
