Heater core leaking

Yesterday on the way home from work I swore I could smell coolant. Made a stop and poked around under the heater core and it felt damp. Halfway home I saw it was dripping on the passenger floor. Anyone replaced their heater core? What did you get, OEM or aftermarket? How was the job, and any pointers on parts quality appreciated. Thanks.

Aftermarket should be fine. Remove the glove box. A cover or two. There might be an electronic (ABS?) module to unplug and move the wires out of the way. Remove the hoses on the under-the-hood side (some coolant spillage). IIRC, the core just wedge-fits in there. Recommend you bring in the old one and match up. I was given the wrong one the first time (O'Reilly), so the parts book / database might have an erroneous listing.

I replaced mine with a parts store unit 6 or 7 years ago and it's still working fine.
Pretty simple to change out, too.
