Universal Garage Door Opener

Just bought my 2011 two weeks ago. Love this truck so far!!!

Had to go out of my way to find it, but got exactly what I wanted.

Question about the garage door opener--any way to make it so that the key is required for it to function? Obviously, the truck will be parked in the driveway (can't fit it in the garage), but don't like leaving such easy access to open the garage door. Bust out the window on the truck and someone has access to my house.

There is a thread out there that I will try to find for you. There is a timer on the home link system in this truck that times out, I think, when the electronics shut off. The thread has all the details. We spent a lot of timing playing around to figure out what it does.

Found the thread. It does have a timer, but also some flaws. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...omelink-2.html

I think that the Car2U doesn't work unless the key is on. This system is not like the Home-Link systems. I have taken Home-Link units out of cars in the salvage yard and mounted in my vehicles and friends vehicles. Along with programming them without a major problem.
Now I having a bitch of a time trying to get the Car2U to program garage doors.
The holding the 2 outer buttons to clear the unit is a bunch of BS...of course I might be doing it wrong....but I doubt it.

Don'tmost Garage door openers have a Remote Kill switch on the wall? You can walk in the house and turn off the remote access...right?

I havea rear entry garage with a security gate,..Never thought about this problem,,,but it seems valid.
