Jet Performance Chip... You guys were right.
I had some money to throw at the truck and before I researched it on here I bought the Jet chip. Then I figured i'd search it on here and found that nobody liked it. I figured it was already coming and has a 14 day return policy so I threw it on just to make sure. I followed the direction exactly and made sure to get all that protective junk off the circuit board. Hooked the battery back up, started the truck and... Worthless. I can't tell a single thing has changed. I'm not saying that I don't feel $250 worth of performance i'm saying it didn't do anything at all.
It's headed back tomorrow, I think the $250 will probably go towards an MSD ignition, any other suggestions?
Sincerely,
Won't make another purchase w/out looking it up on FTE first.

Since when has adding a cam ever meant an engine rebuild? If your motor is solid there is nothing wrong with adding a cam without a rebuild, have done it NUMEROUS times with windsor blocks with no ill effects. If you have speed density though, your choices are quite limited. In a truck your not going to be using a crazy high lift cam anyway as you would bleed off all your compression and lose that low end power.

Actually I have a little more money I can put with this and the more I think about it an air compressor setup for my garage sounds like the best plan.

Putting a used cam can because sometimes they wear to the specific motor that they were in. A new cam in a used motor, good to go. I however haven't even had a problem with a new cam as long as it came out of a roller motor. Flat tappet puts a little more pressure on the cam.
