96 powerstroke starting problem..

Hey guys I'm new to this forum but have been a member of others for a while. My problem I'm having is I recently took my out of storage (was in for 2 years). Prime up the high press oil pump, changed the fuel and all that jazz. It finally started after about 30 seconds of straight cranking. We hooked up the Modis on it and it's loosing all the prime from the HPOP when I shut it off, it takes about 10 seconds of cranking to start it up now. Question is: is there a check valve that keeps it primed or is it part of the Injector Pressure Regulator??
