1948 F Series Trucks
Hi guys,
I am looking at 2 x 1948 F Series trucks.
Plates on the dash identify them as T73100 and T3430 Models.
Can anyone shed more light on what I am looking at here?
I cannot find any other identifiers on them.
The T73100 has a GVM of 13,000 lbs. Not sure about the T3430.
Cheers,
Bart

Never heard or seen these trucks have plates with those numbers affixed to the dash. Maybe it was a "fleet" number???
You can find the serial number in three places. There should be a stamped plated affixed on the inside of the glove box door. The other plate is affixed with rivets in the upper right hand corner of the cowl in the engine compartment. The thierd spot is a stamping on the right frame rail near the front straight axle.

OK. Had a nother look.
There are sme numbers stamped on the firewall in the engine bay (no I.D. plates or tags).

That is what I can find.
Does not appear to be anything on the top of the chassis rails in the engine compartment. Although there is a fair amount of cleaning required before I can be 100% sure....
Do those numbers mean anything to anyone?

Bart, I noticed you're in Australia. It's helpful if you can update your profile so it showsyour location in the little box on the upper right.
There are some FTE members from your country, hopefully one will show up soon who's familiar with numbering/data plate info from Australia.Good luck, and welcome to FTE.

WE NEED PICTURES!!!!! RHD trucks are obviously "rare" to us in the states. From what I remember, trucks for sale in Australia were made in Canada. I just looked through the only Australian Ford truck brochure that I have (1952), but it doesn't mention anything about the model designations.
We don't get too many Australian Ford truck around here. That's why not much info.
