Air filter question

I bought a factory filter and the tubes to put on my 04 f250. mine came with an airaid that i have heard aren't as good as oem. i got it on Craigslist for $75 and it came with a new filter. it came off of an 06 f250.

only thing i cant figure is where the secondary intake hose mounts? i looked at a photo of an 03 intake and i didn't see the secondary hose on the dirty air side. is this just left loose near the battery? i assume its so that the engine wont completely starve if a walmart bag goes through the primary pickup.

thanks for your help.

It's loose. Just sticks in the area in front of the battery.

Is the stock air intake assembly really better than an aftermarket upgrade

From all that I have read on three forums, the stock intake is best, unless you are going for real big HP. There are a few members that push a little over 500 HP with stock filter and intake.
