Drive it and get it code scanned before you remove the batteries or you'll erase any stored codes.

OK i drove it and still no umph. I can hear the turbo whistle but still no get up and go. It is very responsive in neutral, I can mash the pedal and motor tries to flip out of the mounts. As soon as i put in drive and mash the pedal. Forget it! a Uhaul in reverse will smoke me. I check with another code reader. Nothing stored. I dont get it it ran better when I had the leak on the ypipe. Sure it had no bottom end but once I got to bout 30 I was gone like a set of rims at a puff daddy concert ( thanks cable guy).

Have you checked your fuel pressure although this really doesn't sound fuel related to me?

Have you checked the CAC Boots & Cooler

Do you have the plastic CAC Tube driverside

the symtoms just sound like an air leak somewhere

@partsman I have strong fuel pressure
@ blade I have the metal tubes. i thought i had an air leak to but today i got home unbolted the elbow from intake and I had boost in neutral. Not sure how strong it should be feeling it by hand but it felt strong. i am starting to lean towards vgt gone bad. Took it for a drive with it disconnected and truck acted the same. Now being just an old school back yard mechanic, I was curious if I was getting any voltage to the solenoid but when i connected it back up I noticed a different tone to the motor when connected and disconnected.I do not have a volt meter any more my rotty thought it was a chew toy

@ Curt the ebp tube was the first thing i checked. My hissing sound was from a y-pipe that did not seal up to the turbo.

well if you dont have an air leak might want to pull the IPR and check the screen

If its clogged or pushed up inside it you need a New IPR

A little junk in the oil from the work will kill the IPR valve and does happen from time to time

some gauges would really help
