2 Really DUMB 5Star Questions

Hey all,

I may actually have an opportunity to use my "tow" tune next weekend and have 2 questions that I thought up. I've been running the performance tune since I got it about 4 months ago.

First, if I switch it from performance to tow, does the PCM go in "re-learn" mode? No big deal if it does, I just thought if it did I would load it a few days prior and drive the truck a bit.

2nd, I am assuming that the tow tune will still let the truck go into OD if the conditions are correct for it? I read a lot about "OD Lock Out" and am curious about if it actually does lock out the overdrive or not.

Thanks

Can't answer the first question but question #2 is if you ordered the tune with OD lock out our not? I didn't get any performance tunes,All i wanted was the 87 octane tow with OD lock out but he gives you 3 tunes so I also ended up with a economy tune and 87 tow tune w/out OD lock out. OD lock out works when you push the tow/haul button!

I don't have a tow/haul button, it's a 2000. I got 3 tunes, tow, performance and economy. I did not specify whether the tow tune was OD lock out.

Maybe I need to get a hold of Mike.

First, yes, the computer has to "relearn" but it doesn't take a whole lot to do that. Doing it a day or two in advance is probably a good thing.

Second, the tow tune DOES allow it to go into OD but it holds it off for a lot longer. As in, it'll go to 50+MPH before it does shift into OD. At least mine does.

It all depends on what Mike set it up for.
