I put together a pretty slick coolant filter kit and installed it this weekend. Point the arrow at the 8lug name and click it. I posted the pictures under public profile. Not sure how to post them directly to this thread ?

 

Where did you find this reducer tee? I like that fitting a lot better than what came with my dieselsite.com kit.

 

Like the install looks good. Really like the filter head and where did you say the head and bracket were from? They look good...

 

I would like to get one of those tees too instead of the aluminum one.

I got it at Lowe's. Its a 1 x 1 x 1/2 inch Pex fitting. The other T is a 1/2 x 1/2 x 1/2 Pex. They fit really snugly to the 3/4 and 3/8 hoses.

 

I ordered the filter base from Diesel Manor part# IN-427446C1 . I made the bracket from an old gray electric control box cover. I hack sawed the 2 sides and gave it a 90 degree bend. 2 sheet metal screws on the corners to stiffen it up and some glossy black paint. Turned out to be a very sturdy bracket.

 

8lug, very very nice install. Would it be pressing our luck to ask for a parts list? I know if I try to duplicate this I am going to screw it up!

 

The mount bracket is the only thing that keeps me from the DIY part of this install. Plumbing isn't an issue at all.

 

The bracket can be made out of sheet metal. The overhang is 8" X 4"1/8" with a 4"1/2" 90 degree bend and a 1" lip on the sides. I got the base at Diesel Manor.com it comes with 2 - 3/8" barbed hose fittings. They sell filters but I got mine at the International dealership. 8' of 3/8" heater hose - 8 - 3/8" and 2 - 3/4" hose clamps from Advance Auto. The rest came from Lowe's 2 - 3/8" male threaded hex nipples #A-783 , 1 - 3/8" female threaded 90 degree elbow #A-755 , 1 - 3/8" ball valve #41977. The rest are Pex fittings 1- 90 degree 1/2" X 1/2" , 1 - T - 1/2" X 1/2" X 1/2" , and 1- T - 1" X 1" X 1/2".

The bracket is hung to the charge air cooler bracket. You take the threaded stud out pull the rubber grommet out and slip the bracket behind it and snug it up against the radiator. Slip the rubber grommet back on and take a scratch awl and mark the stud location. The bottom corner needs a 1"x 1" notch cut out so the battery cable can fit under it. I split a 3/8" piece of heater hose and covered the battery cable. The return hose slips thru the bottom hole on the charge air cooler bracket. Use a 3/4" hose slipped over any possible chaffing locations. I'm not sure how thick the sheet metal is. It is an electric control box cover that I put a 90 degree angle on and cut some notches.One for the battery cable and one on the front lip where the ball valve comes out.
