This is my second vehicle with the sync system in it.
I used to have a 2010 Cabelas, and now went to a 2009 f-150 Lariat.

Here is my issue. I downloaded the phonebook off of my Iphone to my f-150 and the names come on the screen with the last name first.

I thought at first the voice recognition was not working, since the last owner never used the system

So instead of saying "call John Doe" I would have to say "call Doe John"....
It shows up reversed on the screen too.

Is this possibly a version #1 issue? because it never did this on my 2010.

I looked and looked for a setting, even in the book, and found NOTHING!!

Any help or insight would be appreciated.

It's gotta be an issue with your phone (not surprising).

My 09 F150 and HTC Touch Pro 2 do not have this problem.

 

I have changed a number of stored contacts on my phone because I had saved them last name first, the only problem I'm having is voice recognition, I called "home", and sycn called "Hannapel Home Center", I will remove the home in Hannapel contact.

FYI- I am new to SYNC

 

Mine was working fine with my iPhone and just started doing this same thing after the latest software update. Don't know if there's a fix yet.

 

It;s funny though, I use the headphones as a hands free in another vehicle, and the phone responds normally. I will try someone elses phone and see if it changes things...
I programmed the phone list to be first name, then last..

My phones sync wirelessly with our exhange server at work. This was an issue on all 3 of my last phones (yes, 3 in one year...don't ask) and I deduced that it was caused by how I had them sorted. I had them sorted on my email server/phone as company name, last name, first name. I went through and changed them all to sort by first name last name and it fixed the issue. It was a major PITA due to the number of contacts, but no more issues.

 

All fixed. It was a glitch with the iphone.
O.S. 5 solved the issue.
