Back again sirs, just found out I have 4.10 gears, tags still on axles, calling that a good find after replacing dirty air, fuel filters engine really woke up,they were nasty bad, that wont happen under my ownership!Bad news pesky leak under engine on trans cover plate worsening, seems to be diesel or oil or mix, engine so dirty its a $%^^ to see leak but I will get it eventually, putting white board under it to see what colors I have in morning, also found a bung type 1/8 or 1/4 npt fitting after turbo on exhaust side would this be an old egt hookup spot I could use?

Ah replying to myself here, but gotta get posts up to 25,anyway my leak is DIESEL dripping off trans access cover, looked black initially but diesel musta been grabbing oil on the way down, now, where the #$%^% is it comin from way back there, any ideas?fuel filter drain is closed, blow off from up front?,top of engine dry,so its happening in back somewhere?

make sure your fuel filter lid is tight, mine wasn't and leaked down from there and off the tranny cover

Fuel bowl drain is the common source of the diesel leak. You can get replacement o-rings and download the instructions to fix it here Replacement O-rings for Ford Diesel Engines

Common issue and a cheap fix. For your fitting, you need to read EGT's pre-turbo so it sounds like the existing hole won't work for you.

some pyrometers mount after turbo, so it may just be a thermocouple bung. just make sure you get a pyrometer and thermocouple setup for after turbo mounting.

and your fuel leak may be coming from the return line going back to the tank.

Ok will check fuel return line, since I did fuel filter this morning I checked and its dry around it,the guy before me said he constantly had water in fuel light and used petcock every startup,I'd like to extend hard line on fuel dump further down so it doesnt just puke all over engine looks like fun getting a hose and clamp up in there,do you guys think I should do the egt gauge on a truck that will see light to moderate pulling or is that just for highly mod psd's?

Don't put it in the current bung. Put it in the manifold. And yes its never a bad idea on a bone stock truck. Can be a good diagnostic tool.

The hose on the fuel pump might be leaking and running down the back of the motor, if it is diesel. Turbo pedistal O rings if its oil.

Another place people seem to over look when looking for a fuel leak is the hard fuel lines that connect at the back of the head especially the one by the exhaust down pipe there is a rubber seal in there that will dry out and leak pretty good.

I tried to rep you for the probe location, Mike, but the website wouldn't let that fly.

Dont forget the fuel restriction sensor in the fuel bowl.
