well, not patina, but not pretty paint either. Close enough? She was originally light blue, then yellow, then white, then dark green. When I got it the PO had rattle-can primered over all of that, and now I think I'll leave it like this. Name: betty3.JPG

I'm good with that. It looks as if you and/or the PO have dealt with the rust, and it looks like a great driver like that.

Not a truck (all my trucks have "lost" their patina) but it does have its share of patina. This one is still in the queue so it still looks as it did when it went into the barn in 1968.

Here's my patina:

Here is my truck next to the 64 that is 1/4 mile from my house. It sits in this spot all the time.

When I first joined FTE, I started a thread and posed the question: Is this patina or rust? Some liked the look, but the general consensus at the time was that my truck was rusty and needed immediate attention.

I gota admit that I have never look at that year model at that angle. I have been busy staring at the 48-56. That thing looks fast sitting on the trailer. Those years would make a great looking drag trucks. Beautiful lines.

Here is my "patina". But it was more like total rust through or cancer. Both front and rear cab corners had to be cut out and replaced, both doors had holes in the bottom, both running boards had been patched, the left front fender was replaced as was the hood and the grille, and both air deflectors and of course the bed, rear fenders and tailgate... I do miss that stage of my truck. I didn't have to worry about scratches or little dings. I didn't have to wash it. But if I didn't fix it when I did I would have had nothing left to fix. Look at the rust marks on the concrete driveway. After every rain it got worse!

Notice how the driver's side was worse than the passenger side....

Here's a nice patina truck from my neighborhood:

I'm guessing this truck isn't in running condition as it is part of a side yard display that the owner has going. I haven't met the owner yet, but would like to. He has a cool looking truck for sure.

I had one of those and still kick myself for ever letting it go, wish I had of had a barn to store it back then..
