Vanity plates here in ohio are an additional 60.00 every year. And once you have the plate you are only required to get a new sticker, about an inch square to put on the corner of the plate. Tha sticker still costs as much as new plates. My truck costs me about 120.00 a year.not going to add another 60.00 to that.
I do have vanity plates on a 1980 Malibu Classic that read (9TEEN80) I have had this plate for 14yrs now at about 85.00 per year. Have owned this Malibu for a little over 31 years.
I also have a 1988 f250 with 66,000 miles on her (super, super clean truck) that I have put Hostorical plates on it, cost me a one time 27.00 for the next 25yrs, a no brainer. If I haven`t had My malibu plates for so long I would go that route with it also, plus I like those plates. Everybody is always asking what year it is anyhow, I just point at the plate. To get historicl plates the vehicle must be 25yrs old.

Vanity plates here are a one time fee of $120. Our province has government insurance with keeps the rates down.
