Need thoughts, etc on muffler/exhaust placement.....

Here's all the ideas I've came up with....I made a boo boo.....Instead of mufflers, I have twin glasspacks, and 80-95% of the piping to do the exhaust....

As of right now...I am siding towards Option #3.....

Have at it boys....Lemme know whatcha think...

Option 3. I think trucks look better with duals, and straight-out the back looks best on these.

Was my plans....Now...Here's where I'm gonna go....Different....

Texasguy, I noticed yo had your exhaust ran out the back, but it looked like it was less than 2ft between the tips....

I dislike that look.....I'm gonna spread the tips out, as far as possible....To the ends of the bumper.....

Mine are farther than 2 feet apart. They are on the outside of the frame to clear a reciever hitch and a 31 10.50 spare tire.

I know what you mean though. The ones that are close together that is commonly seen on older 80s Chevys looks like crap.

Why would you put them all the way out to the ends of the bumper? Do you mean like on a fox body or SN95 Mustang? That won't look good at all on a truck. It looks terrible from the side. I saw a guy around here with about a 90ish Dodge like that. Thumbs down.

Thats about where my idea was to locate them! Thanks for the visual....

I had them as I described on my Crown Vic...Looked good IMPO.....Then again it has a smoothe bumper that I'm SERIOUSLY thinking about salvaging for Michelle.....I could have a smoothe steel/chrome bumper, that would double as a rollpan...For the most part...

My exaust tips angle out the rear on the sides for the most part, they are turned down at an angle, no tips. I have true duals tho so I don't know if thats going to make any difference Wes, but I would say option 3 would look best for your truck Wes

I have number 5 on my truck and I love it ( single in duel out). But my goes with the way my tuck looks. I think number 3 for your truck though.

Im a fan of any side outlet. If you were ever to get rear ended or back up to far into a solid snow bank your gonna crush your exhaust possibly IMPO. I have a single turn out behind the passenger side tire(stock diesel location)

I would go with option 1. I have a '96 with the 300 and plan on going out Daytona style. Gonna order the Clifford Performance shorty headers, to the cat, into a single 3" pipe with a single 3" muffler and turn it out in front of the wheel.

The only side exit I like is behind the tire like the stock Lightning tail pipes. The side exit in front of the tire only looks good on Lightnings and especially not long bed trucks. I had mine like this for a little while, but prefer them out the rear. It sounds better too.

I do still have the pair of pipes for side exit behind the tire. They are 2.25 and have 3x12 stainless tips. They are like new and where only on the truck for 2-3 months. If anyone wants them send me a message.
