Question can i fit 33's?

okay, i picked up an 87 f150 4x4 last weekend (no special package, it even says "F-Series" on the dash) with brand new front springs and shocks. it sits pretty high compared to my dad's bone stock 96 f150 4x4, so i was wondering if it would be possible to stuff 33x12.50's under it?

here's a pic of it with 31x10.50's

sorry about the blurriness, it was a bit too chilly for september.

haha maybe if it were more rusted out and what not i would. this truck's in pretty good shape for spending 24 years in upper michigan. it's gonna get some new sheetmetal in where it's rusted on the driver's side and then rhino liner up to the door handles. i don't really want to chop the fenders, but if all else fails

its only the front bumper that's an issue for stock ride height trucks. slight trimming at a angle will remedy the issue. HAHA!

he is right the only thing youd have to do anything to, if anything, is work on the bumper. i have a 92 f150, but its only rwd, all i have to do is put a 2" leveling kit in the front to clear 33s, from what ive read. from what i see in the picture you should be fine, because my truck wouldnt be any higher than that with a 2" leveling kit. hah

I'd run 32 11.50s on stock or 15x8 wheels.

You can not really run 33 12.50 on a 2wd with front leveling springs. I had mine that way before, and 32 11.50 was what fit. There wasn't much room even with them.

There was no rubbing, but it was a snug fit. It was similar to my 31 10.50s with stock springs.

The 4wd trucks sit a bit higher than 2wd does.

I have a 92 F-150 with 33X12.50X15's on mine with a 4" lift, and they still rub the radius arms when turning hard. I need to find some aftermarket radius arms with a bend in them.

yours was probaly 4x4, mine is rwd, if i get the leveling kit, should i be alright with 33 11.50? if theyre gonna rub when i turn im just gonna stay with 31s. there is no point in lifting a rwd truck, besides looks. but thats wasted gas.

Or get a set of wheels with a little less backspacing.

alright, so it sounds like i'm gonna be rubbing somewhere on the vehicle, whether it be radius arms or the bumper. the only reason i wanted to run the 33x12.50's was because i had them on my 77 f150 and they bit the snow and ice like no other (the tires i had on it when i blew the front end in the snow because it wouldn't break loose). so, i guess that another question would be:

how good are those "Hercules" tires in the snow?

I'll mainly be driving this truck to campus in the winter and i don't want to be in 4x4 the whole winter. i need to get somewhat decent mileage (well, best mileage a 300 i6 can get)

also, i don't have the stock tires or rims. the truck came with 15x8 american racing outlaw ii's and 31x10.50 Hercules (some off brand i'm guessing?)
