2000 F350 Cruise Control stopped working

Cruisecontrol went from not working too working randomly and shutting itself off and now not working at all. Any thoughts on this?

Auto or manual? Pretty common on the stick shift when the CPP springs break.

Clutch Pedal Position Sensor, the springs inside of them are known to break and cause poor contact. Usually able to start the truck without having the clutch depressed.

Kind of tricky getting to the clips to release the switch but once you figure it out not bad.

mine broke last fall...same thing...no cruise. i just unhooked the switch from the pedal assembly and made some jumper wires and wired the switch to act as if it was ok. i zip tied it out of the way and all has been fine since. but must be careful, because the truck WILL start without the clutch pedal pushed down. no biggie since im used to manuals, rule of habit to press in the clutch anyway. good luck

if you dont mind explaining more on how you fooled the cruise system by jumping the wires I would appreciate it, all my trucks are and have been a hand shaker except for one a long time ago, but anyway I would like to do jump the wires aswell, ill take a look today and maybe figure it out

i can get pics after work...but what i did was disconnect the switch...it is a large black cylinder on the clutch pedal...mounted at the firewall on the actual shaft. when i took mine out, it was clear to see that a spring was pushed in/out and contacts were connected or disconnected. i used small wires with male flat blade ends and jumped the actual wire connection in the truck. a little electrical tape, and all has been good. make sure you jump the connections on the wiring in the truck, not the switch itself. i think i threw the switch away...i can get pics but they will be tough to see because of where it is at...i think there is a link for it also...ill check

ok I need a hand if someone can help, the previous owner must have pulled the sensor off the clutch pedal I've searched high and low and theres no CPP and yes I know what it looks like, I think I might have found the harness that went to it though, there is 4 wires that have been taken out of a pigtail and two he twisted together, I think the superduty 7.3l diesel manuals only had 4 wires going to the sensor

I have 1 white wire with pink stripe in it
1 blue wire with a yellow stripe
1 red wire with a yellow stripe
and I cant really tell the 4th wire
theyre all dirty and I'm somewhat colorblind(please dont rip on me) so take the colors im giving with a grain of salt, oh also they all look to be the same size wire gauge
