4 return line caps suddenly leaking and getting worse

Its on my dads truck, about a week ago the line going to the top of the IP started leaking, we replaced it. About two days ago the #1 return cap started leaking. And now there are 4 leaking, and they leak pretty good. Any idea what would cause this? Only change we can think of is the truck has been running good old normal sulfur red diesel about 95% of its life, abolut 2 weeks ago he started running ulsd in it, would that cause this? Long story short, i need a return line kit and i was hoping you guys could offer up a trusted dealer, he needs his pickup.

I'll let someone else answer where to get....and let someone else tell you to only use Vitron O-rings....my question is, which side, or both sides are doing the leaking?

Thanks for the info, still wondering why exactly it just started dong this, if its the fuel, or something else, said that the truck has been a little light on power lately too.

Could be several reasons...weather getting colder at night, making the parts contract more. Could be your fuel injection pump is getting worn, so more fuel is bypassing the high-pressure portion of the pump, so you are getting more volume, hence more pressure, to the return lines. Could be just the diesel gods have determined your old O-rings were destined to die this day.

I guess any of those are as likely as the other, i just wondered if anyone eles had something similar happen when switching fuels. The return line system is origional, so 10 years old and 386k miles, id say they performed thier duty to this world.

Im sure this is a kinda dumb question... but why do we even have return lines? shouldnt all the fuel going to the injector got THRU the injector? how and why does it "return"

Depends on the engine manufacturer and fuel system provider. Some don't have return lines. They are called 'pencil' type injectors. They have the water jacket of the heads closer to the injector.
However, most, including the IDI's, do have a return system. Biggest reason is cooling. The nozzle of the injector gets extremely hot, being directly in the heat of the ignition of the fuel, and having all the small springs and stuff inside. Heat would soon ruin them, so, extra fuel is pushed in, circulated around the injector, and allowed to escape back to the fuel tank. The fuel tank dissipates the heat, and, in the winter has the added benefit of keeping the fuel from gelling.

First. I have kits in stock and supply viton orings with each. PM me either here or OB.

The diesel is the same, just dyed red. And they seem to go all at once, its a heat issue,OR he got a batch that had some bio in it. That will eat old orings.
I ship priority mail so let me know.
