If I find one, I fully intend to run over it. I hate the whole "buy a hybrid and save the planet" mentality. I paid less for my V10 F250 than I would had I bought a Prius, and until those damn hybrids can do a quarter of what my truck can, I think I'll keep it.

All my cars have a battery under the hood and aides in running the engine, so I guess technically, I do have a hybrid(s).

Here's a good reason that I'll never own one...lol. I have to wonder how many Prius owners end up in this predicament.

You and me both! I got one you might enjoy: my wife has had a series of foot surgeries over the past year, and this has caused about a trip a month to the SF bay area to see her doctor. If you wanna see your F250 really stand out, drive it in the middle of Prius Heaven sometime. I think every third one was sold in the San Francisco area. Anyway, the last time we took my '88 Mustang GT because its cheaper to drive and easier to park. We were bombing up 101 just north of Santa Rosa about 75 or so and came upon a Prius in the slow lane (where else?) and the owner had some custom wheels on it and the windows tinted rather darkly. I told the wife as we went by, " I can understand the tint, but not the wheels". She asked why not, I said the same thing you just did, " because I wouldn't want anyone to see me in it, either".

My vehicle is a hybird. It runs on multiple fuels; Diesel #2, BioDiesel, ATF, etc.

I was cruising up I 5 NB doing 70/75 and was passed by no less then 53 ( I kept track after number 4 or 5) thumb sucking prius drivers doing 85+ MPH between the California and Washington borders of Oregon..one was even pulling a tiny cargo trailer? what kind of mileage do you think they where getting at those speeds?

I hear ya on the car count. On one of our recent trips, we stayed at a motel about 2 miles from the hospital. My wife, my son and myself had a bet on which car was more popular there in Palo Alto. I said Priuses, my wife said BMW's and my son said VW's. We counted on the two mile stretch and while all were over 30, I think the Priuses were near 40 (in two miles!) followed by VW's then Beemers. About 3/4 of the Priuses were silver as well. Jeez, whatever happened to thinking for yourself, being different? Follow the herd, get in line, drink the Kool Aid...

$3500+ to replace the battery pack in the Prius. Suppose to last something like 8 years but I hear that here in the AZ desert they go in about 3 years. And yep, then they get stacked up in a warehouse somewhere.
