What do you get w/ Eddie Bauer?

Just got a new-to-me 96 F150 4x4 SC Eddie Bauer. This replaced my '94 XL that got totalled. I was under the impression that the EB had all the bells and whistles, but apparently not. Such as with power door locks, I figured the EB had a keyless remote. But I tried the "switch ignition on/off 5 times in 10 seconds" routine to see if the PDL's would bump, but no-go. So maybe I got a "base" version EB? Oh well, at least now I don't have to lay over the seat to roll down the px window, which I like! So anyone know what comes as standard with EB trim, and what would be extra?

EB is a trim package. Power locks, windows, etc. are all options. You can get a trim level with or without options - they are "optional".

EB comes with two-tone paint, badges, headliner, cloth bucket seats (at least in the Bronco they do, not sure about the F-150), wood burl trim, chrome around the wheel wells, etc.

A dealership brochure (sometimes found on ebay) will tell you for sure.

Eddie Bauer trim included Two Tone Paint, Step Boards, EB Decaling and Aluminum "Porthole" Wheels. The interior included 40/20/40 Seat and Dash Trim with EB Badging. Options included a Light & Convenience Package and Captain Chairs in the Supercab version. All these items were upgrades to the XLT Trim

Your RKE System cannot be programmed through the ignition like the '97 on models. There is a grey two pin connector under the dash that has to be jumped to place the system in program mode. You can then program your remotes to operate the door locks.

Thanks - I'll take a look around for the gray connector, and if I find it maybe I'll buy a remote (don't suppose there's remote start hidden away somewhere?). Are there additional instructions other than just jumpering the pins to getting a RKE programmed? My EB does not have running boards, but I can tell there's been some repainting so possibly they were damaged and removed by a PO.

"Thanks - I'll take a look around for the gray connector, and if I find it maybe I'll buy a remote (don't suppose there's remote start hidden away somewhere?)."

The Remote should have these numbers on the back:
FCC ID GQ43VT4T
DOC 1470 K763

No remote start available from the factory on these trucks.

"Are there additional instructions other than just jumpering the pins to getting a RKE programmed?"

The connector should be taped to a wiring harness located somewhere behind the dash cubby hole at the drivers side. Once you locate it turn the ignition to the "run" position and jump the two pins together. Your locks should cycle indicating that the RKE system is in the progam mode. You then press one button on each remote you are programming and that should do it.

"My EB does not have running boards, but I can tell there's been some repainting so possibly they were damaged and removed by a PO."

A lot of these steps were damaged and not replaced and some owners just did not like them so they removed them entirely.

I will see if I can get a pic of the RKE Connector and send it to you.

I haven't been able to locate the 2-pin connector. I did find a couple other gray connectors that are unconnected, mounted just below the ash tray. What would they be for?
