Anyone have a picture of the Top Gun setup? The bilstein setup is pricy, but I'm a sucker for matching stuff (going with Bilstein shocks soon).

The dual steering stablizer kits at TopgunCustomz.com place the stabilizers directly "in front of" the tie rod assembly for both the 1999-2004 and 2005-2010 Super Duties. I noticed that some pics in this tread have them placed 2 inches "below" the tie rod assembly, which are more likely to be damaged while off-roading.

Folks, keep in mind that if you're installing steering stabilizers to cure shimmy or wobble, you're masking the problem not curing it. My alignment guy actually removes aftermarket stabilizers until the alignment/test drive is done.

Click on the links below for pics. I cannot copy & past the pics due to TopgunCustoms.com website restrictions.

do these help wear out your ps pumps fast? the dual setup seems like it could be really harsh on the ps pump. but what do i know.

I put a dual setup on a 20 year old Chevy 5 years ago... original pump is still going strong. If anything, it probably helps the rest of the front end steering components last longer.

As someone said above though, if you're got a bad shimmy, this is really only masking the problem. You need to make sure everything on the front end is straight and true before adding these.

my truck drove perfectly straight and no shimmy at all...but when I hit a bump (pothole), the damn thing went crazy

put the stabilizers on and that instantly went away. You don't have to have any worn components to experience the death wobble. It's just something that happens with a live axle truck...especially a HD one with larger tires
