I don't think you would really want the full blown military tires as they are limited to I think 40-50 mph not to mention I think a lot of them are bias ply tires.

i have an extra set o 16.5 x 9.75 rims and i was thinking of picking up a set. i used to have 35" x 12.5" bfg's but the sidewall were all spidercracked so i dismounted them. found that site....they look good.

Michelin and Goodyear at the manufacturers.

36x12.5x16.5 - Bias ply bad for highway speeds and unsafe for the most part why they switched to radial
37x12.5x16.5 - radial and if you search around you will find they wear good but have bad on road manors, Very bad wet traction and hard to balance.

Do your research I was also looking at this option but decided against it after a lot of research.

Most people that are running them have a set of 16.5 wheels they are looking for cheap tires for you are problaby looking at the 110.00 posting on craigslist in baldwin park just my thoughts. But also keep in mind those same ppl just put a set and have them listed on 16" wheels a huge no no with 16.5 tires.

I have a set of rims 16x9.75 8-170...the 9.75 refers to rim width 170 is the bolt pattern...the 37/12.5/16.5 will dry out before they wear out yeah they not to good on road but they were made for heavy vehicles that go off road and do battle...some people claim they like to come off the rim but I think keeping them properly inflated will discourage that...there are fewer manufactures making 16.5" wheels still of few of the more hardcore off road tire guys like superswamper, pitbull etc...

IMHO no I will not be getting them. As stated above the 16.5 has a bad rep. The .5 wheels have a different bead type look at most commercial big rigs 19.5 22.5 24.5 notice all have .5 great tire for heavy loads. I will be getting something more safe that is better all around. If you look at 4x4 forums they are decent not a stand out except for the price point. 16.5 does not have much support except for the off road crowd. Ill stick with my factory 16"s that were made for ford by alcoa and run a tire depending on overall salty/tread design TBD probably toyo m/t or Goodyear mt

The 16.5 is a great wheel don't get me wrong if it had more support for different tires I would be getting it.

The reason I bought the rims and tires was why I'm sure most guys look at em they are big and fairly inexpensive compared to new tires of similar size...went with toyo mt instead on 16x8 rims I already had from what I read on various searches you don't want the 36/12.50 too soft the 37/12.50 is better like I said before it will dry out before you wear it out definitely know the manufacture date on tire wouldn't buy ones more than 2-3 years old and make sure you keep em properly inflated
