A little about myself....
I'm Doug. I'm a 40 year old guy will a fetish for anything automotive. I've been a drag racer for the better part of my adult life. I have owned too many fox body mustangs to count. Hell, I have owned to many vehicles to count.
My current project is a 93 F150 4X4 long bed that I drug out of a farmers field for the ungodly price of $250.00. He bought it for the flatbed that was on it, removed the flatbed and installed a box he had sitting around. He let it sit in his field for 3 years because he couldn't put gas in the truck, he used radiator hoses for the fuel tank fill tubes and the hoses would spit the gas out every time he tried to put gas in it. I fixed the fill tubes(u-pull it) and the truck runs/drives perfectly. The a/c blows ice cold and the 4 wheel drive even works. The truck had a little rust behind the drivers side front wheel and that was it.
I'm turning it into my daily driver as we speak. I've set a $2000.00 dollar budget on it, of which I've spent $1182.00 so far. I've scoured craigslist and u-pull to get it to this point right now. Up next is body work and paint.
Here's a few pics of it so far.
So far I've changed the fenders and doors(I wanted power windows and locks), installed a body lift, F-250 coils in the front and 2 inch blocks in the rear(after removing the add-a-leafs that made it ride like a bouncing buggy).
I've bought all the XLT stuff for it already, grill, headlights, bumpers, and tailgate so it will be a little shinier when its done.
Every damn bolt on this truck has fought me to death, but I'm winning the battle
Congratulations Doug. Welcome to FTE and the Nebraska chapter. Post away buddy.
