i popped the head gaskets fixed that and still sounds demonic but i have to take it about 150 miles to get it home. i have never heard this before and it isn't the cam. could it be the lifters going out on me?

was there a lot of slop in the rocker arms ?

 

Hows the oil pressure?

 

well the oil press is great and it above the cam in the middle. it's firing up and i can still drive it around with power. it wasn't taken care of for 4 years before i got it. it's been dogged and it acts like the rings r burnt.

 

Are any of the valve springs broken?

 

i tried to get to a shop for help on it but it died today on me and the funny thing is i pulled started it and it fired right up and i drove into the yard. if i can't get it anywhere and can't figer it out i might as well rebuild it and i wouldn't have to worry about the motor having problem and thats the bright side of it and dark side of it i'm looking at almost 900 buck so i might as well do it right the first time and be done with it
