I'm looking at buying a diesel. I'm really loving the PSD but considering the cost for injectors, hpop, etc. it seems like it is a pricey little sucker. Anyway I found a crew cab, f350, 5 speed, long bed, 4x4, with 180-190k miles. Not sure of condition, color or shape but its a bank repo and the dealer was just talking about it. He wants $6k but will likely cut me a deal.
Basically my qualifications are 4x4, crew cab (but would maybe take a super cab), 5speed, ideally long bed. Would it make more sense to get something like a IDI and then turbocharge it, simply for how cheap they are in comparison to a psd for repairs?

Another local dealer had a 94 psd with a super cab, and ttb they wanted 8 grand for it, and it had 220 some k miles.

That same dealer had a 92 non turbo idi like 160k miles with an auto matic, super cab. They wanted $6 for it.

Anyway just looking around to see what my best option would be.

However you can buy all eight injectors for an IDI diesel for the price of one PSD injector.
Some of the guys on the pre-powerstroke page have both so maybe ask for opinions there.
