Is it possible to remove just the emblem from an 89 f150 grille?

Yep, If I recall correctly, my oem badge from the factory had nuts on the back holding it on. My new one is adhesive

I am putting a new shiney grill and emblem on my '89 at this moment. The emblem is held on by two posts attached to the back of the emblem that pass thru the grill. These two posts are soft plastic and have locking nuts that cut threads into the plastic posts. You need to carefully unscrew the nuts or the posts will break.

Save the nuts so the pitch will match and they can be reused .
