Sway Control?

Does the Ford "Sway" Control replace the need for a Weight Distribution Hitch for pulling a 6000# trailer?

On a calm (no wind) day with light traffic on a straight road with an aerodynamic trailer that's properly loaded? Yes.

Any other situation...Kind of.

Never hurts to have belts and suspenders.

Thnx shotgunz ... kinda what I thought too. Seemed to replace a little bit of the functionality but not all.

I'd still want a WDH.
The sway control that is built in does not do any weight distribution, right? And I think you really want that, at least if this is a TT with a tongue weight approaching 800, maybe up to a thousand lbs even (15% maybe of th trailer weight).

No it does not do any weight distribution, and you should not use it to replace a good sway control system! It should only be used to compliment a good sway system, not replace it. Suggesting other wise is bad advice!

You should not rely of the onboard sway control for anything other than extra help in a REALLY BAD situation. It does not replace a good weight distributing/sway control hitch like an Equal-I-Zer or Reese roller cam. I tow a 7500# Travel trailer with my '09 SCrew 4x2 5.4L3V with Ride Rite air bags and an Equal-I-Zer and don't feel like it's over equipped by any means. It isn't worth barrel rolling down the highway on a family vacation!!!
