Rear ABS light when braking

I recently bought my truck and have been using the forum to help me fix it up. I have a problem that I haven't seen come up anywhere else.

When braking somewhat rapidly from highway speeds (off-ramp, getting cut off, emergency situation, etc.) my yellow rear ABS light and my red park brake come on. Both lights stay on for the rest of the trip with no noticeable changes to the drivability of the vehicle.

If I restart the truck immediately, then the lights will be back on, but after the truck is off for a few minutes then the lights stay off.

When running the RABS flashout codes I get a code 4 (yellow RABS light flashes 3 short, one long with the red park brake light on). Depending on what list I look at this comes up as a “RABS Valve Switch Closed” or an “Open Grounded Valve Reset Circuit.”

I have been one click away from buying the RABS hydraulic control valve for $120 but am curious if anyone has any other ideas before I spend the money. The master cylinder is at the full mark with no signs of leaks.
Living in snowy Idaho with only a 2wd truck I would like the extra security of ABS in an emergency situation. Thanks!

Has anyone had any luck cleaning the rear abs valve? If so, then what did you do?

i was having all kinds of problems with my rear brakes.... not releasing lights on dash etc.... i pulled fuse for ABS and my brakes worked properly all the time now.
the yellow light for RABS stays on i put black tape over light until i had a chance to pull the bulb.
it worked for me. 1990 f150 5.0 2wd
