My truck does the same thing. I had the oil changed by the dealer, free first change with vehicle purchase, and they didn't have 5-40, so I had to go with 15-40. They also added the rev-x, the service manager was a huge fan of the stuff. I had a pretty bad OD stumble and an idle lope before, but after the rev-x both are gone. I still get some bluish smoke at start up for a few minutes and the truck idles fine, but runs and drives like hell until it's warm. I let it idle for 20+ minutes on first start up in the morning and everything is fine. I hoped plugging it in for 7-8 hrs before the initial cold start would help with the smoke, but she still does it. It seems to crank faster before it fires.
My FICM V at cold start is mid 30's and slowly climbs to 48.5 when warm. It pretty much stays above 47 while driving....I've seen it drop to 45-46 when I get after it to merge into traffic. After work, it has to run for 4 or 5 minutes before I leave. I have a spare FICM behind my seat that I haven't had a chance to try out. I am keeping it for the Swamps core since it's un molested....mine has been resoldered.
I am leaning towards the injector o rings as the issue. I have a laundry list of things I'd like to get done before winter, but time is not slowing down for me....oh and that stupid not having enough money part too.

I need to get that other FICM in to see if helps. I noticed this morning that my BATT V was around 12.5ish at first start and slowly climbed. When I got back into the truck to leave 20-30 min later, it was at 13.5...where it is typically. The batteries were replaced in APR '10 and water level is full. I've got a few gremlins to chase down in this new to me truck.

Well, that makes me feel a little better that the batteries and alternator are functioning properly.

It will go before 20 minutes....sorry, I was a little unclear. I let it sit that long because that's how long it takes me to gather my stuff, find the dog after she chases a squirrel or deer our of our yard, find the rest of my stuff, throw something together for lunch and get my coffee. I can drive it after only a few minutes, but it smokes.

quick update on my original post.
the issue seemed to be getting worse. the spuddering was happening more, getting worse and took more driving time before it cleared up. I have changed the engine oil did the blue spring and banjo bolts, read about that here; https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...l#post10824767
I also noticed the engine oil temp was staying above 100 degrees, even if the truck had been sitting for 2 days. I replaced the engine oil temp sensor and the oil temp is now below 100 degrees after the truck has been sitting over night. the spuddering is still there but not as bad as it had been last week. I am leaning toward an injector or FICM problem. my next step will to contact several vendors about tuning or flashing the FICM.
at the very least, I have considered contacting a Ford dealer to make sure the FICM has the latest and greatest flash version installed.
