Traditional lift kit feedback

Looking to lift my '88 f250 (in the process of installing a d60 also) and just want some feedback on regular lifts (not the rsk lifts).

Anyone still running reg lifts on their f350s (that's what this will be when I'm done). What lift do you recommend? How's the ride and quality of the lift components?

Ride quality as good or a little better than stock suits me fine.

Oh yeah should have mentioned that. Looking at 4" of lift and 35s. My doner f350 came with some nice wheels and tires I'll use.

I did some searching and there was not much but guys seem to like Skyjacker springs. What lift are you running?

If I remember right when buyin lifts the big names only offered 4" lift for f350s when I was ttb I had the skyjacker 6" for f250. Front springs sagged quite a bit, tossed in an addaleaf and ran 37s. When I did dana 60 swap I also got ahold of some super lift 6" springs for f250 and it set up much better and could fit 38s, now I have custom 8" springs and room for 40s+.

The super lift spring were much more heavy duty, definitely not as smooth of a ride but sat where it should be

I had 33s on my truck stock so 35s shouldn't be hard to fit with a bit of lift, where was this 3" inch kit from? Is it a bodylift?

From what I've been told, a lot of companies will list the same springs as 6" for gas, and 4" for diesel because of the extra weight. Something to keep in mind.

Shouldn't take much when you get that 60 in. I'm running 37's on stock suspension until I get around to building a junkyard shackle reversal. 35's you'll have no problem with using at least the flat 350 springs.

My experience with rough country has not been good. Poor quality. The chrome shafts on the shocks rusted (I have 20 year old ranchos on a Toyota that the chrome shafts still are not rusted) and the leaf springs were garbage. I would go with a better brand.

sub'd. I may be using SD springs when i do the D60 swap on th 92. From what i understand there is a bolt in RSK kit fur use with the SD sprins, cant remember what thread it was talked about though. Im must looking for a solid axle however, dont really need even the lift that will give me let alone an RSK

I'd go shackle reversal, 4" +/- of lift, the shackles in the back where they belong, and no need for a track bar. I may want to go to SD springs also though, because the stockers ride pretty flat.

any particular reason why you don't want a RSK? or am i just mis understanding you?

RSK will get you lift and a much better ride.

I have superduty springs in the front, and rear too.
Home made RSK, originally had gas 250 front springs and the ride sucked *****. Re-did the RSK to move the front mount forward for the superduty springs and it rides hell of a lot better now.

The 250 gas springs were pretty beat when I put them in. And completely flat when I took them out. While moving the front mount forward, I also moved it up a couple inches. Even then I got about another inch from the superduty springs. Unlike all the rest of you, I was trying to avoid lifting the front any more than I had putting the D60 in there. As it is, I'm trying to figure out a way to lower the rear by reworking the shackles and not sure I can get it to work.

I dont want lift. I actually kinda like how it sits now, but the TTB sucks for being out here in the rocks/mud/snow clearance wise, and rides like a tank. Just the D60 swap itself gives around 2 inches, which i think will be perfect for a set of 285s. Guy i work with has a stock 90 F350 and clears 35s no problem.
