doubt that... if we were to stay off the forums i think wed be even more OCD... like picking every speck of dirt outta the carpets with a pair of tweezers... or using a q-tip to clean out the vents... ect ect... wed find other things... in my case it was painting anything that ford left unpainted from factory and allowed to be rusty looking... like the stock steel exhaust, drive shaft, EGR valve and the rear axle..

So i'm not alone!!!!!!! There are some of you I would like to have purchased my truck from. I met a guy recently who had an 08 F350, he asked me if i ever changed my fuel filters... I said of course. He said he has 80k on his and never knew to change them??? how on earth is that thing still running?

lol nope... i liked how the old school muscle guys painted the drive trains to keep them looking nice... so figured id bring the tradition back into the new boys... but got more people with comments going "Whyd you do that its a waste of time and mod money"... they just have no vision imo...

I want to know if anyone else is like me... or if i am just crazy.... I change my oil with motorcraft oil and motorcraft oil filter every 3k miles, and i change my fuel filters of course with motorcraft at every 6-7k miles... I drain my water separator every 3-4 weeks (never get water out, just fuel), and EVERY SINGLE tank of fuel, i put in motorcraft cetane booster in.... So do i need to see a shink?
This is my second diesel. I had my 7.3 for 7 years during which I over maintained it just like we are doing now. THE TRUCK WAS NEVER IN THE SHOP AND I NEVER HAD TO REPAIR ANYTHING BUT "WEAR OUT" parts and a couple oil leaks. I sold it with 170,000 miles on it and got top dollar.

I used to wax mine once a month (cause I had duty and was stuck at work anyways). It's been a few years since I did that level of cosmetic care. I am religious about changing the oil every 5k miles. Fuel filter once a year )12-15k, and the air (recently mod'd a 6377 in) will be once a year. I've done the radiator once and tranny twice now with the machine that gets most of the old fluid out. I'm sure they are both due.
Reading on here though is making me inclined to take maintenance to the next level, while performing additional MODs of course!

I'm changing my oil (5w40 Rotella syn.) every 4500 miles and getting a CAT analaysis on it as well. Fuel filters are done every 9,000 miles. Though, since my dpf was acting up and the dealer ended up putting it into manual regen 4-6 times while it was in the shop, I'm for sure going to change the oil more quickly this time. Can't wait till can afford to kiss the DPF goodbye!
