i WAS WONDERING I HAVE A 56 250 AND I CAN GET DOORS AND A HOOD FROM A GUY .HE SAYS THEY ARE FROM A F-100 53 TO 56 WILL THIS SHEET METAL BE THE SAME . ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT
Doors on a 56 are different than on 53-55 because of the different design cab. Every other body panel should be the same. F100 have a smaller wheel opening in the fenders than the F250 and up trucks.
great info thanks a ton i will go and check out the hood then. i am from wisconsin and found some only about 2 hours away if you know of sheet metal parts that will fit please let me know. So when looking for doors they must be from a 56 -250 then
thanks john so when you say the cabs are the same does that include the doors?? cuz earlier a guy said hood the same doors are diff. just a new 56 ford guy i am aching for info. LOL
53-55 cabs are the same, including doors. 56 cabs and doors are all the same. Because the deisgn of the cab was changed in 56, the doors and cab are different from a 53-55. 1956 cabs and doors are all the same no matter what model the truck is (F100-F800). Same goes for the 53-55 cabs.
Keep in mind that the rest of the sheet metal is the the same between 53-56 model years. The only difference is the size of the wheel opening on the fenders between the F100 and F250-F800 models.
Just out of curiousity, what were the 2 carriage bolts for?? I picked up 3 different hoods for my '54 before I gave up and bought a new re-pop. One of the hoods I have has the carriage bolts. I wasn't aware that it was a 1956 only thing. Thanks for the info, Steve
